I have been using this site for about 6 months now and it is the BEST site to get all the auction information. It tells me all the information I need to know about the auctions going on in my area and all the info that goes with it. It lists all the auctions and not just some of them. I would recommend this site to anyone who doesn't use it already.

Hi Everyone,
I finally won my first unit. My kids will hate me for a while, lol.
It cost me a bit too much to hire someone to help me unload it and 80% of what was in there was trash, but I had a hell of a good time looking through it. I had a yard sale the next day and sold what junk I did not toss out. I broke even with nothing to show for it, but had a blast. I would LOVE to see what other people found and if they made money. Please post ya’ll!

In January 2011, a month after the storage auction shows premiered, new buyers were attending storage auctions in record numbers and it became difficult to purchase a storage unit at a reasonable price. I remember thinking about the other professional storage auction buyers that I saw every week. These are people who have built their life around these auctions and depend on them to make ends meet. They are the people who were truly suffering from the aftermath of the storage reality shows. These people are just like you and I, they have mortgages, car payments, bills and other expenses. I think most storage auction buyers will admit that it has become more difficult to make ends meet and that the storage auction business has changed, permanently.

Once I realized that the influx of new buyers attending self storage auctions wasn't just a trend, I knew that I had to get off the beaten path if I wanted to survive in the storage auction business. I did some research and I found out that over half of the facilities in my area advertised their storage auctions in a smaller, local newspaper. The problem was, there were so many smaller cites and towns within our city, most of which have their own newspaper, that subscribing to and reading them all every day wasn't an option. I was determined to figure something out and I did.

I learned that the storage unit auctions that aren't advertised to the masses generally have fewer buyers that attend the event. Where there is less competition, there is a better chance of buying a quality storage unit at a good price. I was determined to find these storage auctions.

What started off as a way for me to survive in the storage auction business, quickly turned into a way I could help other storage auction buyers. I built a database, started calling the storage facilities and began publishing the auction list. It took a lot of time and effort to continually deliver a quality product, but it was worth it. The storage auction schedule became so popular with storage auction buyers, that I decided to expand into other cities. Now, AuctionsTX.com is the #1 resource for storage auction buyers in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin, Texas.

That’s a great question. We actually call over 3000  storage facilities every 2 weeks in order to provide you with the most reliable and up to date information available. We provide every storage auction listing that the newspapers do in addition to storage auctions that you cannot find on any other website. Not all newspapers publish their public notices online, especially newspapers in suburban and rural areas. Since we call the storage facilities on a regular basis, we are able to provide you with the schedule for these hard to find storage auctions.

I have tried the other services that have listings for every state and they don't list most of the auctions in Houston. Houstonstorageauctions.com is the best website to use if you go to auctions in the Houston area. It's a very good resource!

Thank you for the compliment. I agree with you that the national storage auction lists have limited results. This is mainly due to their coverage area being to large and because they don't actually contact the storage facilities directly. Since we focus on all of the storage facilities with 60 miles of downtown Houston, TX and since we actually call every facility for their storage auction information, our service provides the most comprehensive auction list available to our area.

I am new to the storage auction scene and this website made my life a lot easier. Its worth every penny because the auctions that are listed in the main newspapers have too many people there. This website usually lists over 300 auctions a month so there is always something going on. They also list around 40 auctions a month that hardly anyone goes to. This website will save you money in the long run because you can find auctions closer to your home and you can go to the auctions no one else knows about and buy units dirt cheap.

Very true. Our service costs between $7-15 per month depending on if you get a subscription, pay by the month or buy an annual membership. If you are able to attend just 1 auction and purchase just 1 unit for a few hundred less than what you would have payed elsewhere, then the service has payed for itself.
